I’m 23 F and was just diagnosed with A1AD. I will be seeing a specialist in hepatology, but I’m not sure when. My GI doctor told me to avoid all alcohol. Is this basically my whole life then I can’t drink? Im not a big drinker, but I do like the occasional drink or going out to a band and having some drinks. It sounds silly and dumb, but I just am having a hard time with that as I’m young and my friends and husband and his friends all drink socially. Is this something that I should expect my whole life? I can’t have a drink at all?

I was diagnosed after lots of testing due to elevated liver enzymes.

I’m looking to travel anywhere in the US with my husband who listens to some country, but mostly rock. Besides Rock the Country, does anyone have recommendations that’s primarily country but also some rock (similar to rock the country)?

We live in the Midwest so bonus points for Midwest festivals!!

What levels start to be considered low? My value has been 87 and then 97 a little bit later. Is this a normal and okay value? What values have others had?

I’m 23F and my GI provider did lots of tests due to my unexplained elevated LFTs, history of very early cholestasis of pregnancy, and unexplained nausea and loss of appetite. My alpha 1 antitrypsin was slightly low at 87 and I see my phenotype result is MZ. I’m confused. Does this mean I have a form of A1AD? Could this play into my liver enzymes?
