stupidity at corporate level
A lot of stupid things happen in large companies due to middle managers wanting reports to look good. Just about the dumbest thing I ever saw at DG was spending literally hundreds of man hours preparing 5 stores for a corporate visit. DM and SM from all over the region made these 5 stores as close to perfect as they could. Why? What the hell did corporate learn about how stores are really operated?
