Parked across the street from house DUI

Got arrested for DUI

NH DUI / ALS question — parked car, refusal, and hearing issues

The basic facts are that I was parked at night near my home after work, and the officer approached my vehicle while I was sitting there. The engine was on. I provided my license and registration, agreed to get out, and agreed to field sobriety testing. After that, I was asked to take a breath test and refused. I was then arrested and later asked again at the station.
I believe I did well on the field sobriety tests, so I’m confused about how much weight refusal carries versus the officer’s observations and the rest of the circumstances.
My questions are:
In NH, how much does a refusal usually affect the ALS side versus the criminal case?

If someone agrees to field sobriety tests but refuses the breath test, is that still very hard to fight?

Does being parked near home matter at all if the engine was on?

Has anyone had an ALS hearing continued and had issues figuring out license status while waiting for the new date?

Not asking anyone to be my lawyer, just trying to understand the process and hear from people who’ve dealt with something similar.
