Nonpartisan watchdog files FEC complaint against dark money Super PAC with ties to Lamont McClure

The article says:

"The complaint alleges that Lead Left PAC has violated federal campaign-finance laws by sending money to two newly formed shell companies in order to conceal the recipients of its funds. These companies are likely not the final beneficiaries, according to the complaint, and serve to obscure how the super PAC is actually spending its money."

A historic amount of Republican dark money has been spent in the past two weeks to boost Lamont and attack Crosswell and Brooks as Lamont continues to go negative and parrot the talking points of their ads and mailers. The source of these funds won't be public until we'll after the primary is over, and accountability for the meddling which can be traced back to WinRed may not happen for months or even years. While McClure condemned the help, it seems that he's content riding the wave of GOP help all the way to the finish line as they continue to use his likeness, and he begins to send similar mail across PA-07.

Lehigh Valley Ramblings: Thresa Fadem Displayed a Profile in Courage in Voting No to the Dixie TIF despite intimidation from Lamont McClure - Working Families Party Weighs in

From LVR:

https://lehighvalleyramblings.blogspot.com/

"Last week, Theresa Fadem was one of the six NorCo Council members who voted against a tax break for the conversion of Wilson Borough's vacant Dixie factory into 409 luxury apartments.  She's one of four newbies - all Democrats - elected in November. Before voting No, she shed some light on the incredible pressures that all elected officials endure when facing a controversial issue. In a democratic form of government, that should be expected. But there's a difference between lobbying or argument and coercion or intimidation. Fadem made very clear that she at least felt that she was being intimidated into voting for the tax break. Here's what she said.

>I'm glad we're discussing this up here because this is a discussion of a very great scale, and it should take place here on the dais, in full view of the public. All right, our constituents deserve open, honest, dialogue, not private persuasion. Which leads me to feel compelled to address of recent action that I find deeply concerning. The former county executive contacted my current employer in what appears to be an attempt to influence my position on this matter. It's clearly a breach of professional boundaries. My responsibilities as an elected official are independent of my employment. And any attempt to leverage my workplace in an attempt to sway my vote is inappropriate and unacceptable. I was on the fence before, but I'll tell you right now, it's solid now.

Theresa Fadem is employed as Hellertown's zoning and code enforcement officer. Her boss is Borough Manager Cathy Hartranft. The former county executive is Lamont McClure, who was unsuccessful in his attempt to shepherd a tax break through County Council in November. "

PA Working Families Party weighed in:

"If you want to know why Republicans are boosting Lamont McClure in PA-07, look no further than this clip.

A county councilwoman says McClure contacted her EMPLOYER & tried to pressure her to vote a certain way.

The GOP wants him in D.C. because they know he'll do their bidding."

More GOP dark money hitting PA-07 primary.

In addition to the almost $600,000 spent on TV spots and mailers against Brooks and Crosswell, there seems to be another round of mailers going out against Ryan Crosswell from a Republican dark money PAC.

I'm not a Crosswell supporter in the least, but GOP needs to stop meddling with our elections. I really do think that this election will be between Brooks and Crosswell and the Republicans see the writing on the wall. It wouldn't surprise me if another round of GOP spending comes out against Brooks this week as they attempt to boost McClure.

Lamont McClure accused of pressure campaign contacting County Commissioner's employer to influence vote.

If this is true, this is actually pretty disgusting.

This kind of dialogue should he handled publicly, not through jeopardizing somebody's livelihood to influence their vote on a matter.

If this is how he's conducting himself with regards to the County Commissioner's, it makes you wonder how many backroom deals he'll make in Washington.

What do you think?

Mysterious New Super PAC emerges spending hundreds of thousands in negative ad buys in PA-7 and NE-2

Lead Left PAC is a brand new PAC that registered for the first time in April 2026, and has dropped negative ads against Bob Brooks and Ryan Crosswell (favoring Lamont McClure) in PA-7, and against John Cavanaugh in NE-2.

This feels a lot like IL-09 and Kat Abughazaleh's race, where AIPAC shell PACs started popping up last second spending obscene amounts of money to knock down a progressive and boost a more moderate candidate on totally unrelated attack ads. In an already messy primary, it feels like GOP or AIPAC intervention is going to make it messier.

We're also seeing similar moves from Republicans in the State Senate race boosting Mark Pinsley: https://x.com/i/status/2052407352674996309

I'm really concerned about this, and most of the candidates don't seem to be talking about it.

Lamont's bashing Bob Brooks on social media and Crosswell's touting a stupid ass endorsement. Bob's the only one to issue a comment so far, while Carol's been completely quiet.

This is an attack on black voices and our voting rights, and Bob is the only one of the four candidates to speak up so far. I'd like our PA-7 candidates to treat this as the emergency that it is.

Anyone see this yet?

https://prospect.org/2026/04/28/pennsylvania-congressional-race-pits-corporate-defender-crosswell-against-union-organizer/

"Ryan Crosswell, a Democratic candidate running for Pennsylvania’s Seventh Congressional District, has insisted for months that he never participated in any union-busting campaigns as an attorney at the largest “union avoidance” law firm in the country.

But new documents obtained by the Prospect show that he undertook numerous anti-worker cases. During his three-year tenure at the notorious firm Littler Mendelson, Crosswell quashed workers’ claims of sexual harassment and discrimination for multiple clients, including the financial juggernaut Citicorp, now Citigroup; the multinational medical technology company Becton, Dickinson and Co.; fintech company Mediant Communications; and Sharp Electronics Corporation. He also defended Walmart against a Black customer who claimed that a manager discriminated against him and wrongly called the cops to kick him out of the store."

He wasn't just a union buster. He worked early in his career to stand against victims of sexual harassment and racism. It seems there's no depth this man won't sink to, to earn a dollar.

I am really stuck. I was planning to vote for Carol before I learned about her position on Israel.

The two candidates that haven't made any attempt to solicit donations from AIPAC are Bob Brooks and Lamont McClure. I live in Northampton County and have voted for Lamont before. I really appreciate his history in standing with labor. He's also the only candidate that has worked in elected government.

On the other hand, Brooks has the best shot because Brooks has funding. I don't really care about his lawsuit, he spoke about it at Lehigh Valley 4 All and the Facebook posts are what they are. He's also experienced at representing constituents and I'm really impressed by his mental health bill.

If you're supporting Bob or Lamont, can you tell me why?
