I, 28F, just recently moved in with my boyfriend, 28M. While we were moving my furniture in and switching our stuff from his nightstands to mine, I found a ring in his drawer. No box, just a ring with multiple diamonds (pretty sure they’re fake if that means anything).
I asked him about it late last night and told him I wouldn’t be upset if it’s an ex’s ring, I just wanted to know. He denied it being an ex’s ring and said he found it randomly on the ground years ago and planned on pawning it but forgot it existed. That answer didn’t sit right with me so I pried again and he insisted that was the story and I could throw it away if that made me feel better about it (I didn’t, I still have it).
I woke up around 6am this morning and the ring was still bothering me so I went to his ex’s facebook. Boom, same ring on her hand back in 2022 when they were dating.
I’m upset he felt the need to lie to me, even though I asked calmly about it and told him I wouldn’t be upset about the response. Should I tell him that I know it was hers?
We literally just moved in together yesterday so I truly don’t know how to move forward with this or let it go
