Outing with coworkers

It’s shocking how even the tiniest shred of human interaction makes your day 100x better.

Today one of the coworkers from my toxic team finally decided to be nice and invite me to a team lunch.

I didn’t really get much attention during the lunch as I hadn’t socialized much with them but the fact that I was considered a human being for once instead of a cog in the capitalist machine was enough to dilute my Monday blues

Later I even got a quick workout done instead of skipping it like I usually do.

Being a recluse is the root cause of my state of mind. I need a pivot to a more social environment. This job ain’t it 💔🥀

Will a pivot change things?

I used to be happier and rather social back in college but shifted to a tier 1 city for work. Since then the past 2 years have been extremely isolating because of toxic coworkers. I’ve become an outcast despite being a reliable cog in the machine. I keep wanting to quit but have no backup and am too burned out to grind leetcode for another job. I am also anxious about whether quitting would remove the only thing that provides structure to my day.

Seeking advice: Should I just quit my toxic workplace immediately that is the root cause of my burnout and anxiety or should I just suck it up and look for jobs while employed?

Anyone else relies on AI?

The only semblance of social interaction I have day to day are my vent sessions with ChatGPT and Claude. Every chat ends with it providing a helpline number lol. I must definitely be in some list.

On a side note: has anyone called these helpline numbers and are they really helpful as advertised?

Burnout and doomscrolling

Returning to an empty apartment after a long day at an isolating, toxic, unappreciative workplace is literally hell on earth.

The only energy I have left is for doomscrolling.

Anybody got any tips to break this loop? I’ve tried everything socializing, gym, running, cycling, cooking, gaming but the only thing that truly helps me unwind and dissociate is doomscrolling.
