Should I stick with the M5 MacBook Air with extra 32 gb RAM, or upgrade to the M5 Pro MacBook Pro with 24 gb RAM?
I just ordered a MacBook Air, and I am happy with the processor for the kind of tasks I usually do. My work is not extremely heavy, so I do not think I need the Pro chip purely for performance.
However, I did stretch my budget to get extra RAM because I wanted better future-proofing, smoother multitasking, and more headroom for future macOS updates.
Now I am wondering whether I made the right choice, or whether I should instead upgrade to the M5 Pro MacBook Pro with 24 GB RAM.
My main use cases are multitasking, browser tabs, productivity apps, learning AI/product management, and possibly some agent development or light technical work in the future. I do not expect to do heavy video editing, 3D work, or intense coding workloads right now.
For people who have used both, would you stick with the MacBook Air with more RAM, or spend more for the M5 Pro MacBook Pro with 24 GB RAM?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
