I live in Korea so getting games in English can be a challenge. I wonder what are some examples of complex games people recommend for a solo player, but the game itself largely lacks language elements (I can download a PDF). For some context, I have games like Cascadia and Harmonies, but I'm aiming for quite more complex than that. I'm open to considering diverse options, but I'd especially be interested in games with campaign elements or co-op play as an option.

Hi all I see some people in my area selling Gloomhaven (First Edition) as well as Gloomhaven: Buttons and Bugs. I am new to the series but interested in playing.
If I buy the first edition of Gloomhaven, how much might I 'regret' not having saved for getting the second edition instead?
Also, is Buttons and Bugs a game that somehow spoils the content or gameplay interest for the original game?
Edit for clarification: I live in a non-English speaking country and international shipping (especially these days) isn't cheap. The games I'm looking at are said to be open but not played.
I've played New Energies a few times now and, just like normal Catan, I'm ready to spice it up. I'm wondering if anyone has tried or recommend any items from other Catan products or any variant play I could consider? I do not have Energy Crisis but kind of looks like I could simulate it.
For context, this is my collection:
- Normal Catan + 5-6 expansion
- Seafarers + 5-6 expansion
- Cities and Knights
- Traders and Barbarians
- Helpers of Catan (first version)
- Soccer Fever
- The Struggle for Catan (card game)
- Catan Dice Game
- Exit: The Game - Adventurs on Catan
Hi all, I am considering a Linux migration for my PC. Currently runs Windows 10 NTSC, it's an older computer but should still run better than it currently does, which is crashing if I take up too much memory or resources (which can be, like, a YouTube video at this point), and no, I can't update it to Windows 11.
I have a few drives on here and prefer to boot from a specific NVMe drive, but this rig is such where it requires a boot program on a USB stick for the drive, but only designed for Windows. No stick with program, no boot from that drive.
Does anyone know of a similiar, reliable program for Linux?
We have quite a few now in my house since we are most often 2 players. I'm often interested in determining the (not purely financial) incentives for choosing to create a 2 player version of an original game, especially when those originals have 2 player capabilities. I think if I had been playing when original Splendor came about, I'd have been surprised at the announcement of Splendor Duel, as the original is still quite fun for two (fortunately, I find both excellent).
And since Duel/Duet popularity has been shown, it's sometimes surprising if a game series hasn't yet bothered. I don't believe the people behind Evolution ever gave a Duel idea a go, despite not only expanding but even reimplementing that game even up to last year. There's probably a versus concept to be found there (predator vs prey, two apex predators vs).
Last Week Tonight threw a cute little Catan joke in its recent episode (one audience member laughs really hard at this). Anyone recall other funny media moments when Catan or other games were used for a joke or made fun of in some fun way?
