Hey! 👋🏻 My husband may have a work opportunity in NYC, and we’re very seriously considering a move in the next few years. We’re a family of 6, so I’m trying to get realistic perspectives from people who actually live there.

What would you consider a realistic household income to live comfortably in NYC with kids(school age kids)? Not ultra luxury, but:

-able to afford a decent/safe area
not constantly stressed financially
-able to save for retirement/emergencies
still enjoy the city sometimes

Would especially love insight from larger families or people who moved from lower cost of living areas. Also curious what boroughs/neighborhoods feel the most realistic for families these days.
