Hi everyone,

I need some help understanding a strange situation with my XFX Radeon RX 6800.

The Card:

Model: XFX Speedster SWFT 319 AMD Radeon™ RX 6800 CORE Gaming Graphics Card

Part Number (PN): RX-68XLAQFDE

Memory: 16GB GDDR6

The Problem:
When I check my card in GPU-Z or any benchmark software (like 3DMark, HWInfo), the card name appears as:
"XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 6800 BLACK"

However, my physical card is the SWFT 319 CORE, which is the lower-tier / reference clock model, not the high-end MERC BLACK.

What I have tried so far (and why I am confused):

Used the physical Dual BIOS switch on the card: I switched to the secondary BIOS position while the PC was powered off.

Backed up both BIOS positions: I used amdvbflash to backup the ROM from both switch positions. Both backups are identical.

Flashed both positions: I flashed the backup file back to both BIOS positions just to be sure. After rebooting, the card still shows as "MERC319 BLACK".

Checked online databases (TechPowerUp): The only RX 6800 ROMs listed for XFX with my specific part number (RX-68XLAQFDE) do not exist. The database has a ROM for the MERC BLACK (PN: RX-68XLATBD9) but not for my SWFT CORE model.

What I suspect is happening:

Possibility A: My card came from the factory with the wrong BIOS pre-installed on both BIOS chips. Both positions contain the MERC BLACK ROM.

Possibility B: XFX intentionally uses the same BIOS name/header for both SWFT and MERC series, but the actual clock tables are different (my card runs at SWFT clocks, not MERC clocks). However, I am not comfortable assuming this.

What I need from the community:

I am looking for the 100% original, untouched, unmodified BIOS ROM for my exact card:

Card: XFX Speedster SWFT 319 RX 6800 CORE

Part Number: RX-68XLAQFDE

Requirements for the ROM:

Must be original (from a card with the exact same model and part number).

Must be unmodified (not edited with Red BIOS Editor, MorePowerTool, or any hex editor).

Must be dumped directly from a working card using GPU-Z or amdvbflash.

If you own this exact card (RX-68XLAQFDE), could you please:

Open GPU-Z.

Click the arrow icon next to the BIOS Version and select "Save BIOS to file".

Upload the saved .rom file to a file hosting site (like Google Drive, WeTransfer, or even attach it to your post if allowed).

Share the link here.

My goal is not to overclock or mod the card. I simply want to restore the factory default BIOS so that the card identifies itself correctly as a SWFT 319 CORE.

Thank you in advance for any help or clarification.

I’ve been using Sequoia for almost 2 years without major issues.
I tried Tahoe when it was first released and it was unstable, but after reinstalling it 2 days ago it feels much better.

I’m using:

  • OCLP Nightly
  • OCLP MOD
  • RP Core 1.0.1

Everything works including:

  • AirDrop
  • Handoff
  • Universal Clipboard
  • Instant Hotspot

However, I now have a major issue:

Problem

After shutdown or sleep:

  • Wi-Fi does NOT reconnect automatically
  • When I manually click “Connect” to my Wi-Fi network:
    • the whole system freezes
    • then instantly reboots

This never happened on Sequoia.

I already tried several common fixes from previous Hackintosh experiences, but nothing worked.

Hardware

CPU

  • Intel i9-10850K

GPU

  • AMD RX 6800
  • SMBIOS: MacPro7,1
  • iGPU disabled

Wi-Fi

  • Broadcom BCM4360CD

Bluetooth

  • BCM_20702B0

Ethernet

  • Intel I225-V

Question

Has anyone experienced Wi-Fi kernel panic/freezing on Tahoe after sleep/shutdown with BCM4360CD or RP Core?

Any help would be appreciated.

I was relying on Sequoia for almost 2 years. It's working, and I tried Tahoe many times when it was just released; it was bad at that time! But I installed it 2 days ago, and I really enjoyed it

way better than before, I used the RP Core 1.0.1 method, I've used also a different methods like modified OCLP, but I just like RP Core 1.0.1 to activate the Wifi AirDrop, Handoff, Universal Clipboard, Instant Hotspot,...) and it's actually worked, but... there's always "but" with Hackintosh, what's happening is when I shut down the pc or make it sleep

When I power it on again, I face a problem, and its I have to manually connect to the wifi again; it wasn't like that before in Sequoia, yet when I press to connect to my wifi!

The whole system freezes. I've tried many fixes from experience I've faced in similar scenarios, and it didn't work, so could anyone please help!
