I 25F have been struggling with really bad chaffing and pain due to the volume of my labia minora, making wearing jeans, underwear, swimming suits as well as riding bikes, horses or using some gym equipment really uncomfortable, even painful at times, and overall making me feel like I’m missing out on life since I have to avoid a lot of things. Recently started a desk job and the discomfort is huge there as well, I’ve tried panty liners so pants and underwear don’t dig into me but they cause further irritation.

I finally had a consultation for labioplasty surgery today, and the doctor told me she doesn’t think I need it because she said compared to other patients I don’t have that much volume and while she didn’t want to call me a liar, she did say that even women with bigger labias didn’t report much chaffing or bleeding like I have. While I appreciate that she didn’t want to just “grab my money” and put me under the knife if it was as unnecessary as she suggested, I’m left with no solution or advice for my discomfort.

I am considering the surgery for medical purposes and not aesthetics, and frankly there’s no other clinic or surgeon that could do it where I’m from and I cannot travel at the moment for something like that.

Women who have had it done, please tell me what do you think, I am attaching pictures for reference.
