Priority is just slang for pay us more for ground advantage

Arrived to post office of my town. Then, nothing for two days. Carrier drops off mail at 9 pm tonight. Says they have all the items she should. But no departure scan. Can any seasoned employees help explain this? I know everyone is short staffed and it’s not their fault. Truly just wondering how something like that happens. Arrives well before truck load on the 9. Now, nothing.
