I'm thinking of movies, books, comic books, TV. Every time I try to engage critically with these types of things from a radfem lens on reddit (on their respective subs), I get downvoted to oblivion. It would be nice to have a dedicated space that felt safer where we could have interesting, good-faith discussions.
Would anyone be interested in this?
I just discovered House of R and Midnight Boys and I have been delighted. Haven't been able to find a lot of media that engages with nerd culture from a fellow female lens, so that's been really refreshing.
I especially appreciate how Jo and Mal actually engage critically with content that everyone else just glazes to absurdity like Daredevil BA season 2. They were able to point out the positives while also correctly pointing out the clunky parts when I've seen nothing but uncritical praise for it elsewhere.
Also this is just a personal thing, but THANK YOU MAL for being the no. 1 Karen Page-hater. I have never found a "safe place" in nerd-dom for myself as a woman to express my hatred of Karen Page as she is written in the show. Apparently me not liking a contrived female character that literally just either mirrors or caves to the male characters she's opposite of makes me a self-hating woman or a misogynist. And yes she is 10x better when she is opposite the Punisher.

Mind you this was a frum shul. I don't understand what this has to do to with Shabbat, the parsha or my nephew's bar mitzvah. It pissed me off that it was read on this day, or even at all. It had nothing to do with anything and just felt random.

I take Parnate 60mg daily. It helps me, but I cannot sleep. Even when I take it in the morning I cannot sleep at night. My doctor gave me seroquel to sleep but it's not working anymore.
What do you do for sleep?
