Why buses now are boxy and not cute looking like olden days?

The buses are cute looking and uses organic shapes in design. Whereas buses now are very boxy looking.

We have come a long way: from bulky TVs with giant antenna, to moden flat TVs with superior picture quality and sound and size, of course. From waiting for every show or film to air on a particular day and time to everything readily available at our fingertips. But, in all of this, we have certainly lost the artistry in sound and films. Advancement of technology has made us lose our style.

Back in the 90s when cable was not so prevalent. And not everybody owned a TV, we had some of the best content ghat bit only looked good but sounded way better and original (even if it was copied/inspired). While the TVs were small enough that an adult could cover the whole screen with both the palms of their hands, and sound that always had noise in it, the content was so good that engrossed us to a level that nothing else mattered. Have a listen to some of the intros (headphones recommended):

  1. Surbhi

  2. The Jungle Book

  3. Om Namah Shivaay

  4. Subah Savere

  5. Buniyaad

There are many, and some of them sound way better than some of the songs we listen today. See how varying sryles these have. It's an irony that when screen and sound quality improved, we lost the real quality. While it's true that everything has its phase, its own time, it is also true that now we are locked with bad quality stuff and we have to dog through them to find something worth watching or listening to.

Just look at any form or medium of entertainment. Games? Films? TV serials, songs? Nothing of them holds the same amount of value. And it's not because nostalgia alters our perception. But even as an adult, when I watch old shows or cartoons, or listen to the songs and the music, I can clearly the difference. Quality will always shine. Those cartoons we used to watch in the 90s and early 2000s, they were built different.

Everytime my nephew, who is 7 years of age, comes to my home, he simply refuses to watch any of the shows we used to watch when we were his age. Despite being written better, looking good and using a soothing color palette, ny nephew always swings towards brainrot shows where he is watching people eat weird food or play some weird roblox games. On the surface, it might look like a harmless choice or preference for a kid, but deep down, it is altering the brain. Watching brainrot content does not help a growing kid in any way. But during our olden times, we simply lacked these type of content. In fact, we had shows like Tarang which was not only fun to watch but educational too. And how many remember Meena? This show taught about social issues and girl issues. And still it delivered us the dose of entertainment. Not to mention how eye soothing the cartoon feels.

Limitations, whether lack of cable TV or TV schedule, also taught us the value of patience. Because not everything was at our fingertips, we had to plan. Surbhi came at every Sunday, I don't remember if at 11 pm or 9, but Surbhi meant school next day. I remember when we got transferred to Nagpur in early 2000s. We were living just outside the main city and because it was a campus, there was no food stall or any shop nearby. That meant we had to wait for days to get that 5 rs Vanilla Ice cream cup. And everytime we got it, we savoured it. Licked it clean. Watching Amul Ice Cream Ad was such a treat and a tease. (Those cartoons on the pack scared me as a kid) Those days are gone. Long gone. Never to return. Alive only in our memories.

I wanted to write a lot more but I am on mobile and nobody's gonna read that long. But I dearly miss the old days. The air, the feel, the shows, and the lost innocence.

I am currently using Oneodio Pro 50, which, even after every careful care, couldn't last more than 2 years. I want to upgrade or shift to a headphone that doesn't feel bulky and sounds nicer. I looked it up and didn't find many options except some Koss products. My options are:

  1. Koss Porta pro.
  2. Koss KSC 75
  3. Snowsky - Wind
  4. Moondrop Old Fashioned
  5. Koss KPH 30I

So, I have no idea if the Oneodio pro 50 sounds better than these or if these flimsy looking headphones will last longer or not. Budget is approx $40 or 4000 INR (location is India)
