Small nitpick I have for victory screens

Small nitpick I have for victory screens

Hot take, but most victory screens in the series look kind of awkward imo

When you look at the screen for longer than 2 seconds after the winner strikes a pose, they’re kinda just awkwardly standing there bobbing back and forth a little bit, as if they’re waiting for the player to wrap it up lol

Now there’s a few victory screens that don’t do this and it works really well. For example Joker’s where he gets picked up by the van, and Sephiroth’s where he slowly walks into the fire (one of my favorites)

How I personally would design it: the winner does their animation building up to their victory pose, and at the end it transitions into a 2D drawing with a unique background.
Or maybe you could do it like Street Fighter 6 and have the animation pause at the end, but with some filters and special effects over it to make it look really badass

I think movesets are definitely the most important part when it comes to designing a character to be added to smash.

There’s characters that come from some of the greatest source material, but are widely hated in smash because their moveset is boring or annoying to play against (Steve, Olimar).

And then there’s characters with movesets that were so well designed, they became fan favorites because of that (obviously talking about Captain Falcon here).

Personally I don’t care about which characters get added to smash, I especially care about how fun (and fair) they are to play in the game
