I have a weber A fracture. Thankfully, I don't need surgery. I'm currently in a boot. My next appointment is in a month, and I'll get put in a brace and start physical therapy. My ortho said that I can weight bear as pain allows. He didn't give me any instructions or a timeline for when he wants me to start weight bearing and how much. What type of instructions were yall given? Is it normal to not get any? I feel lost and can't tell if I'm overthinking or if my ortho just isn't helpful. It's frustrating. I'm not sure what the weight bearing process should look like or if I should be working towards it or not. There's no guidance or expectations, and it's bothering me cause I feel like I'm in this situation for that reason. I've sprained my right ankle twice before the break. The first time I sprained it, I went to urgent care. All they really did was give me crutches and send me on my way. The second time, I went to a walk-in orthopedist clinic. I got a boot and was told to wear it for 2 weeks. I told the ortho that I've had foot pain since the first sprain, and I thought I never fully healed. He just told me to look up exercises for building strength in my ankle. It just feels like I've been winging it this whole time and that if I was given guidance and physical therapy after hurting my foot the first 2 times, I wouldn't have broken my ankle.

TLDR; I was told I could weight bear as the pain allows, but wasn't given any instructions or a timeline, and I have no idea how to work towards FWB or how long it should take.
