Mattress Warehouse Dilemma
I purchased a mattress from Mattress Warehouse a couple of months ago and found it to be much too hard. I ended up doing a comfort exchange within the 120 day window for what I thought was going to be a softer mattress (it was labeled as plush and good for side sleepers). The second one felt comfortable in the store. Great! Well, the mattress I received is much harder than the floor model and causing me shoulder and hip pain. It doesn’t seem to be a huge improvement from the first one.
Additionally, the sales person was pressuring me to buy a more expensive mattress the second time around. He called his manager to get approval, and I could hear the manager saying things to this degree over the phone. The sales person I was working with even said this to me, which while I appreciated the transparency, I found to be shocking. It was honestly a very strange and uncomfortable situation. I didn’t feel like they were trying to find me a better mattress, just trying to make the comfort exchange worth it for the company. I really regret not speaking up at the time and/or just leaving altogether. I was already out money at that point for the first mattress and really wanted to get a better one so I went through with it.
Is there anything I can do about this second mattress at this point? It seems MW does not allow returns. I just want to return it and get my money back at this point. I don’t want to call the store because of the pressured situation they put me in when I went to do the comfort exchange.
I’m so frustrated. I find most mattresses comfortable (hotels, friends places, literally hand me down old mattresses I had in college were better than my current mattress…).
I have a cheap mattress from wayfair for my guestroom that is much better and cheaper than the two from MW!
Please let me know any advice you have for this situation! Will the bed soften up? Should I reach out to MW customer support?
I regret ever stepping into MW. I wish I had done more research into the company.
Thank you!
