Anyone go from 16” M1 Max to an M5 Air?

Have an M1 Max 32GB/1TB from day one. Didn’t need the power, but it was bought for me so I wasn’t going to say no. Some things are starting to break or work funny on it, so I’m looking at an upgrade. I was going to go 16” M5 Pro 24GB/1TB but started thinking maybe a 15” 32GB/1TB M5 Air might work. For my daily workflow it shouldn’t be an issue. Like I said, I know I don’t need a Max. My biggest question is the screen quality. Am I going to hate it? I read it’s quite the downgrade. I don’t have an Apple Store nearby to check and I don’t really go in the direction of Best Buy often. Looking for some real world experience going from one to the other. Anything performance wise you noticed taking a hit too?

Inexpensive phone for dev testing

I’m looking to pick up an inexpensive Android phone to test apps I’m developing on (I only have an iPhone). Do some of the cheaper pre-paid ones work if I never activate them? I see things like an A16 for under $100. Wondering if I can use it on WiFi only or if I’d have to load it once. And if so, will it stop working if I don’t reload it. I’m iffy on the cheap no-name phones you see on Amazon. I’d like at least Android 15 on it. Someone suggested a used Pixel 7. I’d prefer something new if I can, I don’t want to get burned/scammed. Any suggestions?
