We just had some vinyl tile installed at my work, and it is extremely slick. The majority of our foot traffic is elderly and/or disabled tenants - so this is an epic disaster. If the flooring gets the least bit of moisture on it, it’s like an ice rink. I’m just picturing broken hips and potential lawsuits. We were told this was like hospital flooring and we were not expecting it to be so slippery! I need to make sure it will be safe for the tenants.

Now that it’s already installed, do we have any options to reduce the slip potential? I attempted to call the flooring manufacturer’s support line & sat on hold for over an hour until finally hanging up. 🙈 I will try again tomorrow to hopefully get some suggestions from them on where to go from here-

But I was hoping for some advice or suggestions from the community…….

Has anyone successfully added a non-slip coating or treatment to modern vinyl tile?

Any advice or recommendations on fixing this?

Are we just up the creek with this and need to eat the cost to replace it with an alternative product?
