I found this exercise online, from a website I use all the time. Usually it’s a great resource but I a bit confused about a solution they provided.
Essentially the question was asking: “Calculate by what percentage costs will be reduced.“
The price the question started with was $191.85.
The reduced price was $28.50.
The solution for this question now say that the price will be reduced by 0.15 -> 15%. (Dividing 28 by 191.85)
But shouldn’t it be 85%?
15% percent of 191,85 are 28.50 but that would mean that the reduced price is about 163? Not 28.50.
