Soo I generally sort my works (completed) based on kudos and every time I did that, "Dripping Fingers" (my fav) was always on top. Last month, "Harry Potter and The Shadowed Light" was completed and I finally got around to reading that yesterday.

The story upto chapter 47-48ish was kinda mid cuz I couldn't see character development that much, Ron's treatment in the fic was also kinda hypocritical of Harry but I was loving the dynamic between Tom and Harry so I stayed.

Now around chapter 48, I started noticing big af plot holes and writing that seemed like chatGPT wrote it. How do I know? I use chatGPT to study so I'm pretty familiar with the language it uses. I don't know whether the author wrote it themself and beta'd it with chatGPT or plain used it to write the chapters for them but I'm getting a sense that some generative AI was involved... If they did not use AI, Im sorry for my accusations but their writing style changed drastically and not in a good way.

Personally, I find that usage of AI takes the soul out of the work and I can no longer find it enjoyable. I much prefer when my fanfic is human written, even when not beta'd.

AI is poisoning the fanfic world in my opinion.

What do you guys think?
