Hello, looking for help with a return for my friend. Will share as much detail as I have, as her and her daughter are a bit stuck on what to do!
Friend’s elderly mum ordered a reclining chair. She struggles navigating on her phone and ended up accidentally ordering two- so order came (shipped from China I believe?) and it was a load of massive boxes.
They assembled one of them and it isn’t working (missing parts they think) and haven’t heard back after contacting the manufacturer using the email on the assembly leaflet. They aren’t that worried about this and want to keep it anyway, however they have had issues returning the boxed extra chair.
Amazon were contacted and asked for advice on how to go about returning all these boxes and didn’t hear back. Neither her daughter nor I have a vehicle big enough to get these to a post office, and they’ve sat while they tried to work out how to return and as you can imagine the return window has closed.
Is there anything my friend can do? She’s got one faulty chair (not really the main issue as she’s not that worried about it not working/can keep trying to get in contact with the seller) and a living room with massive heavy boxes and no feasible way to return them, as well as return window running out.
If it matters, my friend is elderly and disabled and cannot walk (hence wanting a reclining chair that’s delivered straight to her house and using Amazon). We totally get the accidental double order was her fault, she has the text massive on her phone screen so it’s hard to see what you’re doing on it. Was just hoping there may be a solution or if anyone has any ideas it would be very much appreciated! While they should have chased it up while the return window was still open, life is just hectic busy for her daughter and it fell to the wayside and Amazon not responding to help requests made time drag on too.
Thank you in advance for any ideas! Have attached photo of Lounge Box Stack Hell so you can see why it is a problem to drop it off at a Post Office 😬
