If both main tank and off tank die on Magtheridon, is there a point in using rebirth on one of them? He's immune to taunt and threat doesn't persist through death so there's no way he can get threat back, right?

I've never raided before and I can't find the answer to this online. Tonight I'm running Gruul/mag with a friend's guild. They use a 2 SR system. My main spec is feral tank but I'm running resto tonight since they were already full on tanks. Can I SR tank items or is that bad etiquette?
