We just upgraded to full fibre and the new router was delivered and switched on today. Most devices in the house are getting around 500-600Mbps download speeds, which is expected as we're contracted for at least 500Mbps, but my PC can only reach about 250Mbps.
The router is WiFi 5 and my PC's adapter is Wifi 6. I've tested the connection in both 2.4 and 5Ghz modes and found that with 2.4Ghz I only reach speeds of about 45Mbps. I've also tried angling the motherboard's antennas differently but the best configuration is the one I started with, anything else just lowers it. Updating Intel adapter drivers didn't have a noticeable effect.
Wifiman says that my signal strength is -45 and doesn't show much packet loss when downloading a large file (jumps to 33% every now and then but it's very brief), but latencies do rise to the hundreds.
Any advice?
