I had this garage door installed 6 years ago, they didn't install the garage door opener (this was DIY'd). I recently closed the door over a charged garden hose. The garage door opener still tried to force the garage door closed and some loud banging was heard. When I went to open the door back up, the top panel split as shown in the photo. I am reaching out to the garage door installer to purchased a replacement panel.

The installer should be able to order a new panel, yes? Even though this is almost 6 years old? Any ideas how much this replacement panel should be? I'm sure prices have changed since 2020. And anything else I should do in the future to help prevent this from happening (aside from not closing it down on something)?

This is from my original quote ($600 for door, $500 for install)

Had front windshield tinted a week ago. 70% XPEL XR. There’s this band that has a slight distortion/bubbles in my line of sight. It doesn’t appear to be dust, and feels flat to the light touch (have not pressed down or tried moving it around of course). When looking at it perpendicular to the windshield, it’s challenging to see. But in normal use case, it catches my eyes thinking there’s dirt on the windshield.

Car has been parked outside and it’s been 70F the last few days. I have reached out to the tinter and we’ll be giving it another week and reevaluating whether it needs to be redone. Checking here to see if anyone’s encountered something similar to level set my expectations.
