KinGrinder K6 Settings
Hey! I recently got a K6 and am trying to get my 6 Cup Bialetti Moka Pot to do a full brew but keep getting around half the expected yield (~100g of coffee)
I’m using boiling water into the base up to the valve, 30g of coffee added, I use a needle distribution tool then give it a couple of taps (this lowers it below being a perfectly flush basket, so maybe that’s the problem?)
I started in the recommended range of 60-70 clicks on K6, but same issue so am pushing it further and further up (courser grind) but now I’m at 80 clicks and still getting half the expected yield. The coffee is fine if a bit bitter, but I feel I am definitely not getting the best out of it.
Is the grind my issue? Or shall I be adding more coffee to make the basket completely flush? Just don’t want to end up adding more and inadvertently tamping the coffee when levelling.
