Golmud is peak BF6 so far.
Being an old time BF player (47 years old) played virtually every BF title from 1942 trough to BF6. BF 2, 3 and 4 being my favourites. I pre-ordered the Phantom Edition of BF6 and I will be honest I thought the gameplay was pretty good overall but man the maps let the game down so bad the game just felt like COD, I dont like COD, the last COD game I played and enjoyed was Modern Warfare back in 2007 so yeah I shelfed BF6 with up until yesterday 22 hours total play time from release.
I actually re-installed the game the day before last as I was excited to play Golmud, launched the game, loaded into a Golmud conquest mode and man I just looked around with a little smile on my face, having played a couple of rounds this is how a Battlefield game is supposed to feel, how its supposed to play, this is the map scale we know and love, it looked new, fresh and colourful, yet still felt familiar.
They took a great map and made it even better, I would love to see them do something similar with Strike at Karkand, in fact if they could remaster older maps and release them at this quality I would love to see a bunch of maps from BF 2, 3 and 4 released into BF6.
