Does anyone have experience applying to UTD under Texas Academic Fresh Start?
I’m a Texas resident looking at Fall 2026. My last college course was in 2018, so I’m trying to understand how UTD reviews Fresh Start applicants when all previous college coursework is old enough to be disregarded.
Would admissions still treat me as a transfer applicant, or would they evaluate me under freshman-style criteria using high school transcript/class rank/test scores?
I know I need to confirm directly with admissions, but I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has gone through this recently.
I’m a Texas resident looking at applying for Fall 2026 under Texas Academic Fresh Start. My last college course was in 2018, so all of my prior college coursework should be more than 5 years old.
I’m trying to understand how admissions would review me if Fresh Start disregards all of my old college credits/grades. Would I still be treated as a transfer applicant, or would I be evaluated under freshman-style criteria using my high school transcript, class rank/GPA, ACT/SAT, etc.? I know I still submit all previous transcripts, but if they’re disregarded and I’m considered “under incoming freshman standards” what do they look at?
I’m especially interested in anyone who applied as an adult/nontraditional student under Fresh Start recently. Did admissions admit you based on your high school transcript? Did they use old test scores?
I know I need to confirm directly with admissions — just trying to hear real experiences before I apply.
