I’m frustrated with what’s happening in the Indian market.

A lot of large manufacturers are mass-producing cheap mold-made idols in bulk. They often skip fine details, but still dominate because they sell at very low prices.

Another issue is buyer mindset in India—many customers believe a god idol should feel heavy and be made from “stone” or “marble.” Some manufacturers take advantage of this by adding marble dust or filler waste just to increase weight and market it as “marble dust idols,” even when the actual craftsmanship is poor.

For other 3D printing business owners, sculptors, or makers:

  1. How are you dealing with cheap mass manufacturers?

  2. How do you educate customers about quality vs fake “weight/value” marketing?

  3. Is there still a market for premium, highly detailed deity idols?

Would love to hear real experiences from people in manufacturing, 3D printing, sculpture, or product businesses.
