Update on Bambulab A1 Blowout

So I was able to connect with the WOL3D support team after my last post about my bambulab A1 breakdown due to a faulty AC board.

They created a case with all the details and sent me two replacement boards for both of my faulty printers.

Thank you everyone for their support and sharing the post so it can reach to the right people.

I received the replacement parts within 3 days. I appreciate the quick action.

Also I didn't have to pay anything.

Glad it all worked out. Thanks reddit fam.

Terra Homage Desk Clock (IKEA TJINGA Facelift)

Facelifted an Ikea TJINGA alarm clock into a TERRA-inspired desk clock (60 mm Dial).

Loved the original design and material, but wasn't able to secure it in time.

Hopeful that I can acquire the SS Variant 🤞🏽

Prep/Smooth 3d prints

I had printed vault boy from Fallout
The model printed smooth but support interface and some completion layers are also present

What is the best way to fill these for priming and painting?

I created these portable enclosures for electronic circuits. I’d like to share them with fellow electronics DIY enthusiasts for their own projects. I designed various versions of boxes, front panels, and rear storage for multiple applications. I’d love to get your feedback and suggestions for further improvements.

Need suggestions on Resellers!

Hey all
I am looking forward to buying a bambu lab P2S need some honest opinions on the resellers. The options I have is Robu, wol3d, ideal3d and Hydrotech. Would appreciate any assistance on this looking for good after sales service as well. Thanks

What's up with every other comment recommending Wol3D offline store?

I've been lurking in the sub for some time now and it seems like every other comment on any buy recommendation post is suggesting to go check out the Wol3D store.

The other half is saying to avoid Wol3D at all costs. I am beginning to wonder if the suggestions are paid/sponsored. And if so, are mods doing anything for it?

Just ordered my A1 and its gonna arrive soon, I'm very excited :D

I just wanted to ask what all should I know so that I can be prepared? I know you should tighten the screws at the back of the extruder thing, ik you should calibrate everything, but maybe theres something else I'm missing?

also additional question, where do all of you keep your printers? I was thinking of keeping it in my room before a handful of people recommended me not to because of the fumes. I'll only be printing PLA and PETG

Thanks :)

Another Bambulab A1 Blowout

So the stat is 2/20 printers blown. I didn't expect this from bambulab. This is the second incident within 6 months of a new printer blowing up. Atleast the body is fire retardent otherwise it can easily catch fire.

Now I'll have to again shell out 2k for this replacement board.

Ps:- Ordered it from wol3d, no support from them even with warranty they are asking 2200 for the replacement part.

is a1 combo worth it at 48k inr?

i have never bought a 3d printer before and thinking of making a1 combo my first purchase. should i wait a few months or pay 50k?

also interested in p1s combo at 70k inr but i was told to get p2s instead which is 1 lakh+ (out of my budget)

EDIT - i don't aim to print abs. only pla & tpu. tho enclosure sounds good to prevent any fumes going out & dust settling in?

EDIT #2 - looks like wol3d promoters overtook the comment section. that's why check out other providers such as robu, 3idea etx

Beginner’s Guide to 3D Printing Business (Reality Check)

Thinking of starting a 3D printing business? Read this first.

A lot of people think 3D printing is easy money. Buy a printer, download files from Makerworld, print them, sell them, profit. Reality is very different.

I’m writing this after making many mistakes myself, so beginners don’t repeat them.

First thing — if you cannot design your own products or find your own niche, surviving long term will be very difficult.

Almost every popular file on Makerworld is already being sold by hundreds of people. Some sellers are printing for as low as ₹2/gram. Honestly, according to my calculations, that pricing itself makes no sense. At that rate you are not even covering:

- printer cost

- electricity

- failed prints

- wastage

- maintenance

- nozzle/part replacement

- packing/shipping

- your own time

It becomes a loss-making business very quickly.

So before entering this field, either:

- learn designing

- build your own niche

- or create your own products

I’m not trying to scare anyone. Just sharing reality from experience.

Now if you have already decided to start and you know your niche/design direction, then my honest suggestion:

Go with Bambu Lab printers. Don’t overthink it.

Almost every major 3D printer company is Chinese anyway, but Bambu currently gives the best overall experience. Easy to use, less headache, good print quality, easy maintenance, good spare parts availability.

Which model should you buy?

- A1 Mini → best for absolute beginners

- A1 → best starter printer overall

I’ll always suggest starting with these only. Don’t directly jump into expensive setups.

If your business scales properly later, then move to higher models like:

- P1S

- P2S

Where to buy in India?

These are the best sellers according to my experience:

- Ideal3D

- Hydrotech3D

- Robu.in

You can usually contact them directly and sometimes get discounts/free accessories.

I personally would not recommend WOL3D because I’ve seen many complaints regarding after-sales service. But yes, they are also official Bambu resellers, so if pricing is much better, you can still consider them.

Now coming to filament.

PLA:

Your safest and easiest option.

- easy printing

- less headache

- faster printing

- huge color variety

PETG:

Use PETG if you want stronger parts.

It’s stronger than PLA but absorbs moisture more easily, so drying becomes important.

Best filament brand?

If you want maximum reliability with almost zero tuning/settings headache:

Go with official Bambu Lab filament.

Their slicer presets are perfectly tuned for their printers, so things just work.

But if you’re on budget and still want very good results:

Go with Numakers.

I personally use them and they’re honestly excellent for the price.

Also one important thing:

Once your business starts scaling, always buy filament in bulk.

Prices become much cheaper.

Approx:

- Numakers PLA → around ₹700–800/kg in bulk

- Bambu PLA → around ₹1000/kg

And please don’t make the same mistake I made in the beginning…

Don’t blindly buy every beautiful color you see.

I literally bought too many random colors which are now just sitting unused.

Start with commonly used colors:

- white

- black

- red

- yellow

- grey

These move the most in general. Of course it depends on your niche/products, but don’t waste money stocking 20 colors initially.

One more important thing:

Don’t freely sell copyrighted models or someone else’s designs without proper permission/subscription/license.

Right now many people ignore this because consequences are rare in India, but later things can become problematic.

Designing your own models is always safer and better long term.

And honestly, AI-designed/customized models are growing very fast nowadays.

If anyone is starting out and has questions, feel free to ask. Happy to help from whatever experience I have.

Big fan of Dhurandhar and couldn't find any printable fan art online so I just made my own.

This is Jaskirat from the Jio Studios film, sculpted in ZBrush.

Made this as a fan art piece. Would love to see prints if anyone makes one.

PSA Please be aware of possible Issues with warranty from WOL3D regarding NTC A1 Failure

A lot of Bambu A1 Printers are facing NTC failure. This is a common issue on the A1 and is faced by a lot of people.

Wol3D on two separate occasions has claimed that NTC failure does not fall under warranty and is asking for money separately. We have screenshots for the same.

This is a lie, NTC failure is covered under warranty and if anyone tells you otherwise its a lie, if they do ask you for money please move to the whatsapp group and we shall make sure to support you.

Wol3D has been running a rather nefarious stand and We feel it is not right. For the betterment of the people we are making this PSA.

I also request to please think twice before making a purchase as they are not always forthcoming.

I personally have proof for the same, request you to think twice before purchasing the A1 via WOL3D

Rocky figurine from Project Hail Mary 🚀🪨

AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE! 🚀🪨

The entire model is hand painted and fully articulated, so all the limbs can move and pose naturally. Tried my best to capture the look and feel from the book while still making it feel like a high quality collectible display piece.

Each model is custom made to order and individually hand finished and not mass produced which means every piece gets significantly more attention to detail and quality compared to most generic prints you find online.

We can also make them in pretty much any scale you want, from small desk-sized display pieces all the way up to a full 1:1 Rocky 👀

Would love to hear feedback from fellow Project Hail Mary fans and 3D printing enthusiasts!
