AuDHD accepted by Mamedica!

I wanted to add my experience here because I used this subreddit a lot ahead of my consultation (reading experiences etc) and I thought it could be helpful for other people in a similar situation.

My primary condition is Autism, with ADHD as secondary, and the goal with MC for me is to help with anxiety, insomnia, overstimulation when leaving my home, social anxiety, and emotional regulation. I also have always suffered from depression but my ADHD meds have helped a lot with that.

I am an immigrant, so I have a somewhat limited medical history here, and I haven’t been on any anti-depressants or other medication other than my ADHD meds, so I was really worried that I wouldn’t get approved.

My two treatments, which ended up being enough, were:
- my ADHD meds (Elvanse), which I still take and are on my medical record
- my (private) therapy with my Italian therapist, which I’ve been doing for 4 years (including an AuDHD adapted CBT). My therapist provided a document explaining how long I’ve been in therapy and some of the therapy types used (like CBT)

I explained in my consultation that both these treatments have been helpful for me for some things, but that they cannot help with the issues I mentioned above (or in the case of ADHD meds they can make my physical anxiety and my pre-existing sleep issues worse).

We’ll see how it goes in the long run, but so far I’ve had a really good experience with Mamedica, they’ve been so helpful on the phone when I had questions, and the clinician I had my consultation with was nice, it felt like he was actually listening to what I was saying and he put me at ease.

My first prescription will be:
- Sourdough (Aurora) for the evening/night (which I saw suggested often for sleep issues on here)
- Gelato Dream (Clearleaf) for the day (chosen by the clinician)

I have been self medicating for my sleep issues for years (with my trusted Mighty+), but any tips, reviews, suggestions etc are welcome!
I would also appreciate if anyone has tips to minimise the risk of supporting unethical companies as I do follow a few boycotts (from what I’ve seen I can’t mention it explicitly)
