Basically I was off today and I woke up from a call from my boss asking if I could come in and help stock truck. The DM added 10 hours for her to use to get the truck fully stocked. We have been having issues with over stock and massive trucks since I started like a month and a half ago. By the time we get the truck done, we have the next truck already in the back room. It's hard to keep up because that's all we do basically so this weekend we are going to recover everything.

Well, while stocking truck.. my SM starts saying how she keeps getting written up for things she was never even taught, how none of her SM paperwork was done when she was told by the DM herself to take a month off work due to a surgery and stuff like that. The DM literally told her she needs to do better, she said I'm trying and he started talking about literally demoting her?? Like... I didn't hear any of this but this is what my SM said, she said would honestly take the demotion if this keeps happening.

Well, after I worked at my main store I came over to another store that needed some help. (Which was the store I was hired at, I was transferred to the other store for more hours and because I got promoted). This fresh truck had 8 rolltainers.. it took 5 hours to stock.. it was a lot of overstock and just alot... The key on the shift starts talking saying how the DM has been getting on the SM. The DM literally checked the bathroom after a customer apparently told the SM to grab some gloves for a "learning experience" because the customer decided to clog the toilet with paper towels.. I only ever talked to the DM once, he seemed nice. He gave me a $1.75 raise with my promotion instead of the $1 I was put in for. I heard he was apparently trying to replace that SM... He worked there for 5 years or so.. we also just had a massive hiring event for "store manager candidates" and stuff like that for every store.. (despite not having many hours). So yeah, the highest I will go is ASM, I like the job but damn I see what SMs have to go through now.

Made a post about how dollar generals here had a sticker. Never found them at my store so I went to the other store I worked at. Bam, found them. Bought 2 of them, never tried them yet so I'm stoked! N Maple street, Winchester KY. Top shelf

The past 3 nights I've closed, drawers were constantly short. (Which never was an issue until recently). We just got 2 new hires and both of them worked these past 3 days. Basically let me break this down daily.

Day 1: I closed with our most recent new hire. Something we do (which IK we aren't supposed to do but we do) is share drawers. Well. I put my own drawer under my numbers and usually we would run off the opener drawer. While I was cashing out someone on the main drawer, a line started formed so the new hire got on my register and started checking people out. Didn't think much about it until close. My drawer was $7 short somehow. I let my SM know and she said a drawer yesterday was over $20 and it will even out. That wouldn't have caused the drawer to be short though...

Day 2: I decided to change the opener drawer to my SA for that night. The same new hire from yesterday was working and was supposed to leave when I came in. She didn't leave until about 30 mins after and was running off my night SA's drawer while I was counting the other drawer down. I didn't know this until my SA told me, he had been there for 2 years and never had a problem. I counted the change fund down and somehow it was missing $10. I thought it was in his drawer maybe when I gave him change, maybe I pulled $30 out for the $40 I gave him, idk. Well.. his drawer ended up $10 short also. So $20 is just missing from the deposit.. I tell my SM we need to watch this new hire. She claimed to be a key here a while ago and all that and if I needed help, she could help with drawer counting and all that? No.. you're a SA, I don't need help doing my closing task. Idk how the change fund ended up shorted. Idk if she saw us put the code in or if I really did grab $30 for $40 somehow. I always double count so I doubt it but it's possible.

Day 3: (Today). I make sure the SA (which isn't the newest hire but the other one) has her own drawer and that only she runs off of. I ran off my drawer only and it came -$0.10, whatever. Counting her drawer down.. well it's -$19.58 I think. I let the SM know again with a picture, saying she was the only one to touch the drawer and all that.

I don't want this to look bad on me. It was taking a bit of time to close since I'm going back and recounting everything. The drawers, change funds, everything gets recounted. We are enforcing not sharing drawers because of this happening recently. I don't want to be questioned because so far, it's only happened when I closed.

I do not work tomorrow, I do know that the SM and another key are working and that both new hires are working, one is closing and one is coming in the morning.

I'm a key holder. We just hired a new person. They only worked there for 3 days and everyday something is messed up with the drawer amounts. She started Thursday, I only worked like an hour on Thursday but didn't meet her since I came in the afternoon and she was in the morning shift. My SM was closing that night. Fast forward to Friday. I closed with the new hire. We share drawers and never had an issue (which I know you're not supposed to do). During a rush, I was running off the main drawer (which is the SMs drawer if she opens, which she did). The new hire walked over and asked for my pin to my drawer and I gave it to her. We get the 10 or so people out of line and don't think much about it. Well.. my drawer ended up $7 short.

I called my SM and she said that a drawer was $20 over yesterday and that it would even out. That doesn't make sense because that wouldn't cause the drawer to be short. I recount everything to make sure I am not missing something and just authorized it. Well.. today, the new hire worked in the morning. She ran her own drawer but I decided to count it down to see something (which ended up fine with like 14 cents over) I put the drawer in under the guy who closed with me tonight. She was standing by me when I was putting it in. It was her time to leave so I went back to stocking the little bit of truck left. Well, she left 20 mins after her time she was supposed to because the closer with me tonight said she was cashing people out on his drawer. Okay.. well, tonight I counted the change fund and it was $10 short. I thought I might have accidentally grabbed $30 when I put $40 in 5's when he needed change. I counted his drawer thinking it would be $10 over but nope.. the drawer was $9.78 short. I went back and recounted everything again just in case and found nothing. I called my SM and she said she would watch the cameras but can't really do much since it wasn't her drawer. I tell her that we need to start doing it where everyone gets their own drawer and nobody can run off of. I don't know how the change fund ended up short. I make sure I grab and recount exactly how much I give in change and take out. I think somewhere in the process, a $20 was slipped from a drawer and maybe I did grab $30 for the $40 I gave.

Also: side note, the new hire also puts her $50's, $100's and sometimes $20's underneath the drawer for some reason. Nobody has ever done that here besides her.
