I. Do. Not. Under. Stand.

I’m bad at the game, I’m tracking all. Been trying to get better. Been around since 2012 but have taken several years long hiatus’s.

More than half my nights like tonight I play and get 0-400dmg up to Tier 6, and 4-800dmg up to tier 9 per game. I’m doing all the things right, playing tanks as they’re supposed to, trying to understand the dynamic of the maps beforehand, my teammates tanks, reviewing matches at the end, watching YouTube, etc. but most of my matches tonight I just feel targeted.

Several of them straight up somehow the enemy got behind the team and wasn’t spotted until they started shooting at me because I was a little further back. Other times I was on line and it was just I am the one picked out. By whatever is in front of me, I retrograde and I’m sniped from across the map to the side.

It’s so incredibly aggravating when I’m an intelligent person, do extremely well at almost any other game I play, and am extremely competitive, yet somehow this one just gets me so angry. My WN8 is like 150 and WNX is 50 for the day out of around 20 matches.

I do not understand what to do I’m at my wits end and I’m so addicted to the thought of loving this game and I probably wouldn’t care about my stats *if they were not visible to the public.* what do I do to move forward

I will likely delete this post later I’m just so tired of this

Going to try to make this as short and sweet as possible, forgive me if it is not.

I’ve been playing WoT since its inception on PC. I took a break in 2014 until around 2018, played a little through the latter years of college and dropped it again as life got busy. Getting back into it now I still cannot get the hang of the game to where I’m producing consistent damage/kills.

It seems every time I pick the game back up there’s obviously new metas, new gameplay changes, countries, etc. I’ve got up to tier 6 in every country in every vehicle type and up to tier 8 in some of my more played lines (mainly Russian heavy/TD, American Med). French I like their light line at tier 7.

Ultimately, I have tried watching guides on YouTube, playing with others, etc. I just cannot get the game down. Most nights I hop on after work 1-2 nights a week and it’s just 10 straight losses in a row - there’s games I get decent dmg/kills in, and there’s games I’m set in a position in my IS-3 ready to lay the hammer, then out of nowhere 6 unspotted enemy tanks destroy me faster than I can realize what’s going on.

All in all, it’s tiresome because I’ve wanted to love the game since 2012, but I’ve never been good enough to. I understand conceptually the difference between the countries, lines, types, etc. and how they play, but physically I cannot begin to formulate strategies because it seems no matter what I try, I get steamrolled. The only time a strategy will “work” is if I have a solid team on my side, I’ll see the kills skyrocket. My T4 SU-76M I believe I have like a 57% win rate and I’m averaging a beautiful amount of damage/kills per game, but even then it’s team dependent. My ISU-152 that I’ve since progressed to, I feel like there’s no winning with that. If I hold back and try to support or snipe I feel that the stock gun is widely inaccurate; if I try to push up it’s got paper frontal armor and can’t do anything but cannon fodder.

Overall, what can I do to actually get better? What has worked for you? For the casual player that spends a few hours 1-2 nights a week I cannot put it at the forefront to focus all my time and effort into, but I’d like to be able to be content with how I do in these matches. Sorry for the rant, but I appreciate the help in advance!

Hey y’all, just downloaded the game and I’m in love! As a tanker in real life it blows me away how accurate visually this game is.

One question I had is are there frequent updates to the vehicles currently in the game? Or potentially slightly more realistic sound mods? The only thing I long for that I feel would perfect the game at its current stage is a few of these to note below:

• Abrams engine whine being much louder/more noticeable with a realistic occasional stutter especially in gunners view

• Abrams NBC system sound (like a loud blowing sound) turns on when in coax mode

• Abrams tracks clattering/growling at speed and squealing at low speed

• M60 engine sound - I miss the real audio of these V12 beasts and just how good they sounded and how loud they were. The T-64’s seem to have a similar sound in game to real life, was wondering if there are any mods or pending future tweaks to the M60’s.

• Bradley engine whine when the fan kicks on

Otherwise in love with the game, thanks folks
