[M4A] The Hunt: 1980 - Long Term
Boots covered in mud, a .45 in the holster and a prominent mustache. That's the way we all in the Anomalies Control Department of California will remember officer Jonnhes. A brave man forged in cheap whisky and strong coffee. A husband and a father that will no longer open the front door to meet the smell of toasts and no longer would be heard complaining of the minor inconveniences of his marriage before wrapping the conversation up with his typical 'but it's the woman I love.'
Officer Jonnhes left us serving his hometown, and he proudly did, because he knew the risks of this job and still decided to love, to laugh, to fight, because he believed in our duty as 'Hunters', as 'Hounds' how those who haven't walked even a mile in our shoes dare to call us. Those who we still protect, because we - as officer Jhonnes - don't do this to be recognized, to be called heroes. We do this for our Nation.

But those brave words pronounced by Sgt. Holmes weren't going to bring him back or wash away the tears rolling down his daughter's cheeks. Those words were protocolar, thought, measured to avoid the morale in the Department drop. And I knew Angela would expect me to tell her how the incident was. What happened back there and, most importantly, why I was the one still alive and not her husband. I knew I was going to be judged, and I don't blame her to do so. The only thing my lips could pronounce the moment I had her in front of me was 'I'm sorry'.
A week and a half has passed since I lost my partner, my master, my friend and I'm back at the Department, expecting to be assigned the next case, knowing another failure would end my career right there, if not my life. The desk in front of me it's empty, when it should have a steamy cup of coffee and a stained newspaper. The chair is neatly pulled in, just the way Jhonnes hated to find it.
Sgt. Holmes calls me in, just to tell me the obvious. Fake sympathy distributed in five words, one being my name: 'How are you doing, Farllen?' before telling me the obvious. A new partner is going to be assigned to me and that no more failures would be tolerated.
I'm not excited to meet them, yet I know those are the rules.

Hello! And thank you for reading!
If you get this far, I assume you found my idea slightly interesting!
The idea of the story if follow the new partnership of my character, Officer Farllen, with his new partner. Perhaps it's a rookie who just got out of the academy or maybe he finds a veteran that reminds him - or it's compleatly opposite - to Jhonnes. Everything situated in one of the most colorful eras: The 80's.
The idea does have a particularity that I'm sure you have noticed. What's an anomaly?
Werewolves, ghosts, gnomes, witches! Everything non-human or with some kind of magic component is classified, in this world, as an anomaly. Once we set up the story, if it's needed, I'd explain further, so don't worry if it's not that clear right now!
I do have some requirements for the story, which would be:
×Decent grammar.
×A minimum length of 2 solid paragraphs per answer. The more, the merrier.
×A creative and collaborative style! The world is ours to grow it and make it evolve!
×A bit of patience. (Full time worker and student in this side :'D)
×Your favorite 80's piece of media as password included in your first message! This is very much important so I know you have reached this far!
I'll be expecting to write with you soon!
Chao!
