Career Advice

Hello everyone, I’m looking for some career advice and whether I should make a switch.

For some background, currently I work at an auto wreckers in Ontario Canada. My job is to strip junk/accident cars for parts to be sold but I’m thinking about possibly switching to be a proper mechanic.

I’ve worked on everything from Toyota to Dodge to Porsche to Jaguar and everything in between. With my tools from home and my tools from work I own almost anything I need to fix cars. I have been thinking about going to school to become a mechanic and actually fix cars for a change instead of ripping them apart.

I make ~90k per year before taxes/deductions and would say I enjoy my job a lot but have been feeling bored lately. I’m looking for some opinions on if it would be worth making the switch. Would I make more money as a mechanic? I already am used to working on piece work instead of hourly.
