I want to join either the Coast Guard or the National Guard because I want to serve, but I don’t know if I’d be wasting my time with the National Guard since it’s part-time, whether it’s a 3- or 6-year contract, or if I should join the Coast Guard for 4 years instead.

Can people tell me the pros and cons?

I’ve talked to my family, but I’m still very 50/50 on which one to choose.
