Hi, so I've got the original MW3 on Steam, I'm looking to replay the campaign, get achievements, do spec ops. And I know there's that nasty virus for doing anything multiplayer, but I don't exactly know the ins and outs of it.

I don't intend to join any lobbies, but the Spec Ops DLC missions are tied to the multiplayer, as in I cannot access them without downloading the MP part. Am I safe to download this part of the game and open up my additional missions, or is the game so risky that it's not even worth installing this section to access something that I should theoretically be using offline or in private lobbies with my friend? I've seen people say that anything offline is safe, but I've not seen anyone talk about the DLC and how it's paired with MP.
