Hello all, I'm considering the switch to EV after speaking to a friend who owns one and has lots of great things to say about it.
I currently drive a 2019 BMW 330i which I've owned for a year (no finance). I manage around 40mpg with it and do roughly 15,000 a year max, this consists of probably 50% countryside driving and 50% motorway driving. At the moment I'm spending somewhere around £2400 a year on fuel. It's worth noting that I do a 220 mile round trip once every week.
Would it make sense for me to switch now financially? A used polestar 2 or ioniq 6 can be found for the same price as I could sell my 330i for so there's no real large cost for me to switch, and I also have a driveway and ample space to install a home charger.
I'm just wondering if I'm missing something here, for my use case it almost seems too good to be true, so I would appreciate others thoughts who have already made the switch, Thanks!
