My snake Pyjamas is an accomplice to Red John

I hope this type of post is allowed here! I got my snake Pyjamas last year in December and noticed later on that he has a super cute smiley face!

I never told anyone about how uncanny and slightly creepy it is when you have watched The Mentalist because most people are already afraid of snakes and I’m trying very hard to work on a positive image for him, lol.

Figured you guys might be the right crowd to appreciate it though! ;)

Former skinny legend glow up!

I got ADFs about a month ago and this specific guy was in a concerningly skinny shape. Like skin and bones. Here my old post with pictures for comparison:

One month of lots of blackworms and daphnia later, he is looking much better! Out of the 4 I have, he eats the best straight from the syringe. On the other hand, if I don’t “handfeed” him, he pretty much doesn’t see nothing. The worm is on his arm and he won’t eat it….

I have one other frog that turned from normal size to mega chonker. She’s easily double the size of him lol! And yet, that one prefers to hunt for herself.

Anyways, have a nice weekend, hope you also enjoy the pics!

Hi everyone,

I have built my own moss pole using spagnum moss and a few pieces of bark sprinkled in for my Monstera. I Filled the middle of three poles with the moss, the wrapped everything with some string.

The thing is, when I first used it, it was super moist. Within a fw days it went bone-dry. I wanted to set up a drip-watering system from the top originally, BUT:

When the whole thing was drenched, it made my entire room moist. Like the floor was sticky level moisture. Due to a bunch of aquariums and terrariums, I have rather high humidity to begin with, but that was not sustainable for my floor and walls.

I was thinking of somehow adding more of a wrap around the pole to contain the moisture better, but not sure how to do this while leaving room for the roots to grow in or wrap around the roots.

Has anyone had a similar issue??? Was using 100% spaghnum moss a mistake? Maybe I need to add coconut fibre or something? Any advice or ideas welcome!!
