I found this on taobao (a chinese shopping app) for $43-ish. Original undiscounted price is $50, i applied the merchants voucher to get it down.

The shop looks pretty convincing to me as they're allowing returns, they're marked as Tmall and they sell other calculators as well. The second image I attached isn't the full list, but I've also seen TI calculators, fx- cnx and fx- cncw ii (given they're from china) plus other basic calculators.

The reviews sounds robotic, I'm guessing that they're directly translated by taobao itself to make the app global.

My questions are,

  1. Does this looks convincing enough?
  2. Other things I should watch out for?
  3. How much does these usually retail in china?
  4. If i do buy it, what are the stuff i need to check right away?

I'm just looking for a programmable casio to try out their casio basic language, specifically in this price range ($45-$50). Graphing calculators are too expensive, and I can't find anything in the local used market.

Checked my local bookstore, this model retails for $147. Either this is the standard retail price or importing is just expensive, I'm not sure. I'm from Malaysia, and I do have a calculator to use for my exam (fx-570es plus). This is strictly for personal use. So, buy or pass? Any help is appreciated.
