I had to leave work yesterday feeling sick. I still don’t feel well this morning. If I call out today, are both considered one absence, same as if I called out two days in a row?

If I have 6 hours of sick time, and I use it all to cover an absence of an 8 hour shift, will this be an excused absence? Or do I need as much sick time as hours in the shift?
