Fight Insurance over total loss value?

Pretty frustrated/irritated with this entire process.

We were hit by a drunk driver and what we thought would be repairable turned out to be frame damage and a total loss. The value of the vehicle exceeds his policy limits($25,000 limit) so I’ve had to resort to filing with my insurance for the claim.

2019 TRDORP
106,000 miles
They’ve valued at $27,000 and that seems insultingly low. They’re offering just a few hundred over CarMax and less money than Carvana.

Everything comparable I’ve found in the area is listed at $32000+, including the 3 comparable they listed then somehow devalued all 3 to $25,000-$27,900. The comp they value highest has 4 accidents on the carfax, mine had none.

Anyone successfully fight something like this? Suggestions?

This whole process has been a nightmare and I’m so bummed to see it go.

I got the call a week ago that our beloved 4Runner was indeed totaled(bent frame) after being smoked by a drunk driver over a month ago. We’d always talked about adding a van to the family fleet in a couple years and this expedited those plans. I couldn’t find any lightly used ~2 year old vans locally as EVERYTHING was a former rental with a ton of miles and eventually decided we’d have to go new as we needed a replacement vehicle rather quickly. Ended up with a smoke blue pearl Touring. I’m still pretty bitter about the 4Runner as we’d intended to keep it in the family for the long haul, but the van seems to have been a great replacement.

Our beloved 4Runner was recently totaled by a drunk driver, so we're forcefully in the market for a new(to us) vehicle. We'd always talked about getting a van(Odyssey or Sienna) once my wife is finished with school in a couple years, but that plan now gets expedited.

We're likely looking for something in the 2021-2023ish model year range and came across this 2022 Elite with 101,000 miles that I plan to go take a look at. They're asking $28,990. We'd likely keep it 2-3 years then look to upgrade to a newer model once she graduates.

Anything special I need to be looking for? 10 speed vs 9 speed, weird battery drain, etc? I'm overthinking this I'm sure of it, wasn't expecting to get thrust into the vehicle market against our will.
