Never played any Metroid game but gave this a shot since it was $30 at Costco a couple weeks ago for Switch 2

Anyways, I did get 100% of the items in the game and its GREAT but not perfect…

Loved the lore, atmosphere, music, my thoughts on the low points…

  1. It’s really short, I was expecting to fly on a space ship and explore planets but you are stuck on this 1 planet, I beat the game in 19 hours and that was me exploring and taking my time

  2. Felt like the bike was under used, super cool concept but its basically only for Crystals which is a huge bummer, I was expecting more boss fights with it or with other “racer” enemies but that didn’t really happen

  3. Yeahhhhh probably worst part is the desert, why, WHY is this even a thing there was hardly anything of interest and it felt like padding for 1 quest

  4. This game needed more Shrines in Sol Valley, could have had more shrines to use your powers with more puzzles to solve

My favorite part of this game is the Ice Belt, it felt like I was playing Alien loved the creepy space horror vibes and exploring the science labs and reading the logs, its my favorite area hands down.

I also really enjoyed the last boss fight in this game it was challenging and I appreciated the challenge especially because some of the earlier bosses were push overs…

Would I recommend this game? YES! But again I am new to this series, I can see how this game can be polarizing to veterans of this series

Honestly, I want to go back and play the other games to see what I missed out on ESPECIALLY back stories on Samus and the main baddie

I know Metroid was primarily a platformer game so I might jump into those old Metroid games
