My (47F) fiance (51M) is planning a fly-in fishing trip at the end of the summer. It's him and his bestie for sure, and he's invited four other similarly aged men.

Over the weekend at a birthday gathering- the wives of two of the invitees pulled me aside and asked me to make my fiance cancel the trip. They were adamant, the other two who came over were more neutral.

I told them I couldn't do that, and asked why. One wife said "she doesn't trust her husband to be away for a week and not oogle women or flirt" and the other was concerned hers would fall off the alcohol wagon.

I admit I snickered at the thought of a man cheating with a bush woman, or lady squatch on a deserted lake with only 5 other men. When pressed about it I told her flat out there's no women up there, only lady squatch.

When they realized I was not going to interfere, the two called me a Pickme and Cool Girl wannabe and told me I wasn't welcome to their next events. I was rash and uninvited them from my cottage from here on out.

I feel bad because their kids love it and we have a huge party every Canada and Labor Day weekend. But I'm not about to host people who are rude to me.

Am I an overreacting Pickme?
