Lake Of Tears ?

I’ve read quite a bit of theory about the “Lake of Tears.” Personally, I think it really is a lake, a place that the inhabitants haven’t discovered yet.

I don’t know what its purpose is, but what if it was the place where the bodies of sacrificed children were thrown? When they appear, they have the appearance of bodies that would have come out of the water.

And what if we had to find the lake in order to find the bodies and free their souls by summoning them according to a specific ritual?

In the caves there are drawings of people on boats. Maybe that’s what happened on the day of the sacrifice—they left by boat to throw the bodies there after killing them?

Are they the original parents (reincarnations of Tabitha, Jade, etc.) who wanted to leave a message so their descendants would remember (ANGHKOOEY) and drew it on the cave walls?

There’s a lot involving the boat, especially the lighthouse (what is a lighthouse doing in the middle of a forest, seriously? 🤣). And also the sound heard when Boyd and Sara discover the lighthouse—it sounds like a huge boat horn, doesn’t it?

I’m probably going too far here, I’ll admit it 🤣

Faraway Tree

Do you think it could be possible that an object someone is carrying can guide where the characters end up when they go through a tree?

- Tabitha had Victor’s lunchbox with his address inside, and it led her to Maine, to her father.

- Boyd ended up inside a chimney shaft after Sara handed him a lighter just before he entered the tree.

Did Sara maybe have a cross or some religious item on her that caused her to end up in the church?

Maybe Dale mentioned, or was carrying, a particular object that led him to the pool?

I don’t know, but maybe there’s a connection… or maybe not!

What if Victor was actually chosen to be some kind of “guardian” of the town after the massacre?

Sometimes I feel like the monsters wouldn’t even kill him. He spent 2–3 days in the tunnels and came out alive. He survived for years without a talisman, completely on his own. He knows every secret, but buried it all because of the trauma of losing everyone.

What if the town is somehow forcing him into this role? I don’t know why, but it’s interesting that he keeps saying people shouldn’t look for answers—because he knows it always ends up getting everyone killed.

Maybe he knows Ethan could become the next “guardian” if people uncover too much, and that’s why he’s so scared for him. And maybe that’s also why he refuses to remember—because remembering might mean Victor himself would die.

When he’s digging graves in front of Colony House, he says, “I’m getting ahead this time!” Like he already knows he’s going to survive again and will have to reset things for the next cycle.

He also collects belongings from the dead—maybe for the entity, like MIY?

And what about the BIW… could he have been a previous guardian?
