I was misdiagnosed for years and in 2023, a NP finally thought I had nasal polyps and the ENT confirmed it. I had a 95% blockage in both nostrils by the time of my surgery to remove them in 2023.

Fast forward 3 years and after reoccurring sinus infections I went back to the ENT and they are back. Doing the same thing steroids, antibiotics and a CT scan. Surgery is the next step, waiting for it to be scheduled now. Currently at 50% blockage, because I was able to identify it earlier this time.

So is this what I can expect every 3 or so years for the rest of my life? I really hate the headaches, anxiety, depression and nasal infections I get from polyps.

I’m going to try and get my ENT to give me dupixent this time, I feel like people act like that’s a miracle drug and I’m down to try anything at this point.

I have nasal polyps again had them removed in 2023 (95% blockage) and they grew back again in 2026 (50% blockage currently) (I was misdiagnosed by several doctors for years before a NP correctly identified the condition, yeah for rural Midwest doctors). I never deployed but was on the new side of Fort Bliss for three years and experienced numerous different dust storms, running through the desert on tank trails and things which cause allergies, which inevitably leads to the nasal polyps.

Is this worth filing a claim for? I never had allergies before I went to Fort Bliss, now I have chronic sinusitis caused by the allergies, which causes the polyps. It’s only like $500 a month, but I’m not worried about the money, I’d just rather not have to pay out of pocket if I’m going to have this surgery every 3 years (I have civilian insurance as I didn’t do the full 20 and have zero other service related injuries).

Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.

I’m prior service active duty army, I’ve been out for over 10 years. I’m thinking about joining the National Guard, just for the experience. I have a good job, degrees are paid off, I just miss the brotherhood. What are the odds of me getting a waiver to avoid BCT? I’m still in shape I’ve always worked out. I’m a prior 27D, some I’m also curious as to how that works in the NG. Do they get pulled up to the brigade level? Or are they essentially used as a 42A when not using 27D tasks.
