Hey r/simracing - I am brand new to this world but have always wanted to get on the track. But being a T-4 paraplegic always made it feel too out of reach. After too much research, I learned about the APM Paddle Upgrade from Fanatec, giving me access to analogue paddles as a throttle/brake.
Now for a cockpit, I needed something that didn’t take up too much space but, above all else, needed to be accessible to transfer in and out of. The Fanatec CSL Cockpit was perfect, but sooo low to the ground stock. Upgraded it with 4-inch caster wheels for movement and height! We don’t need the pedal attachment for this rig since we are driving with hands only.
Overall, it’s been an amazing experience, and I am so grateful there are tools out there that make this possible. Probably sound like a Fanatec ambassador—just a guy excited to go fast again!
My biggest challenge now is creating an analogue clutch setup. Open to any and all suggestions and tips to further create a realistic experience, and any advice to go faster with this setup is greatly appreciated!
Cheers - Drive Fast, Take Chances 😎
