[PS5] Won’t turn on after lightning strike

Like the title says,

after a lightning strike my launch day PS5 won’t turn. It was plugged into a surge protected power strip, and everything else on that strip is working fine. Really sucks because I had just successfully defended my Master’s Thesis and was ready to finally sit down and relax… until this.

The console beeps, but no lights turn on, the disk drive doesn’t activate, and the console otherwise doesn’t turn on.

I’ve seen mixed things online with some saying it could be the power supply, so I ordered a replacement to see if that fixes the issue. I’ve also seen other comments online that the beep means it’s a motherboard issue. Is there anything I could visibly see on the motherboard to indicate that the problem lies there?

I found these capacitors next to the LAN port that visibly seem unhappy, but I haven’t checked the other side of the motherboard yet because I didn’t want to undo the tension bracket/mount for the APU.

Has this happened to anyone else, particularly the beep but no other indicator, and what was the solution for you? I borrowed a multimeter from a friend but I don’t know how to use it lol.
