What to expect with IE if kid hates strangers?
I meant EI. I have dyspraxia😅. EI is early intervention.
My son is 17 months and doesn’t say anything except babble and doesn’t feed himself. He understands very well, follows commands, reads emotion well but just won’t talk or eat unless fed.
Anyway the dr wants him to try EI.
I read in a comment that they test the kid and if the kid doesn’t respond well it’s marked lower.
My son does not like most strangers. He would literally just cry and move. Even if I was there- in a minute it’ll be crying. In 2, screaming.
He is isolated only seeing us a neighbor and my in-laws. No other kids or adults.
So how would EI even work in this instance?
He goes to daycare in a year so I was thinking of waiting until he’s a bit older/ can understand more/is used to others to try it then instead?
I just don’t see how they can help him, literally, since he will only scream. Like what do they even do in that instance, this kid isn’t going to cooperate.
FWIW I think he could do both things but since we read him super well and give into his crying he sees no need to. We know when he’s hungry hurting tired. He does not need to speak and I feed him if he cries bc I hate the crying.
