possible GHSV1 and disclosing
I was told recently that I have ghsv1 but it was through a photo of a possible outbreak a few weeks ago. It was like dry split skin and I genuinely didn’t know that outbreaks could present that way but bc of new insurance, I didn’t see her until 2 weeks later so it was healed, no swab. The nurse sounded really sure it was ghsv because it kinda stung when I rinsed it, I’ve had a cold sore before, and it reoccurred a few times before on my perineum. I’m not trying to sound like I don’t believe her and maybe I’m still in denial, but I still haven’t informed my most recent partner because we are rocky rn. I was emotional and my friend suggested I get a second opinion before calling the partner, I feel wrong for waiting so I’m sorry if that’s ignorant. I went to another provider and he thinks it could be lichen planus/schlerosus and to go to a dermatologist but a different nurse said she agreed with the first nurse but said it could be anything? Is it wrong for me to ask more opinions after the first nurse? It’s been a few days and I feel like my window to tell him is closing. I am not sure about anything but to take the meds. Do I still get a swab if it happens again while on medication? How do I disclose this?
